Following the call for nominations in February, we have 11 Board of Trustee candidates, 11 Congress candidates and nine Learned Society Committee candidates.

A two-week campaign period has also opened today.

Members of IChemE are encouraged to review the candidates’ election statements ahead of the ballot opening which, for the first time, have been developed in video format as well as written format.

Election statements for candidates in all elections can be found here.

Voting will open at 14:00 BST on 30 April 2021 and close at 09:30 BST on 21 May 2021.

All Voting Members will in good standing will receive an email with a unique voter code and details on how to vote from Mi-Voice, an independent electoral service provider.

I'm calling on the IChemE Members that are able to vote to cast their decision in this election to maintain the ongoing reform and modernisation of our Institution.

I have voted and I ask others to consider voting for David Bogle.  I would also ask you to reflect on the calibre of people that are supporting his nomination for Deputy President, including:

Dame Judith Hackitt CBE, IChemE President 2013-2014, former Chair of the UK Health and Safety Executive.

Professor John Perkins CBE, IChemE President 2000-2001, former Chief Scientific Adviser, UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills.

Nigel Hirst, current Chair of IChemE Congress, current Chairman of Haden Freeman Group.

Vote in the 2021 IChemE election for your Deputy President.

Vote for David Bogle.

It would be nice to have more eligible members get involved in voting for their representatives. Typically about 10% of those members eligible to vote (Chartered Members and Fellows) actually engage with IChemE and vote.- please consider helping to decide the future of your Institution and vote. I think it is really important to speak for those who can’t (Associate, Affiliate and Student Members)

Please consider voting for me in the upcoming IChemE elections. I am seeking re-election in the role of ordinary member. My goal for my 2nd term is to continue to champion IChemE’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (ED&I) Strategy and to continue collaborating with stakeholders who can help us successfully embed ED&I across the Institution. This is the next cultural shift and similar to Process Safety, it needs the endorsement, participation and contribution of every Member.

A few Members have contacted me to ask for directions on how they can cast their vote - the voting button is located at the bottom of the email titled: Notice of IChemE Annual General Meeting 2021. Please check your junk mail if you haven’t received this email else please contact IChemE and/or MiVoice
